One of the largest Islamic centers in Collin county, ICF currently serves a large, diverse and growing community located in Frisco, Texas. It is one of America’s fastest growing city consisting of young professional Muslims and entrepreneurs, ICF is well positioned to become a model masjid and community center for North Texas Muslim community. 

In this dynamic environment, the Imam will play a pivotal role in building a model community and institution. The Imam will work closely with the Board of Directors (Shura) to set the strategy of the ICF and push its vision of model religious and community center and strengthen foundation for future generations. 

 

POSITION SUMMARY 

Provide Islamic religious guidance, practices, and leadership to the Muslim community of Islamic Center of Frisco (ICF), in Frisco, Texas according to the teachings of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of our last Prophet Mohammad (peace and blessings be upon him); Must believe in Oneness of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala and the final messenger-ship of prophet Muhammad (PBUH); establish and promote educational and extracurricular programs for adults and youth; lead the establishment of a unified Muslim community welcoming to all Muslims from different backgrounds and cultures; engage with the larger community to promote friendship and understanding between Muslims and non-Muslims in the community. The Imam should respect all school of Islamic thoughts and promote mutual understanding of different Fiqh issues. The Imam position shall report to the Board of Directors (Shura) and works with a liaison committee formed by the Shura. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS  

The Imam will have at least three to five years of professional experience, including working with a large congregation in Friday Prayers. Must be U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident. 

 The Imam will have following additional experience and attributes: 

 Credentials 

 * Bachelors or equivalent degree (Master’s Degress will be preferred) in Islamic Education from a recognized (Islamic) institute
 *
Master’s Degree will be preferred
 * Be able to recite Quran with Tajweed
 *
Must be a Hafiz-ul-Quran
 * Understanding of the American-Muslim context
 *
Track record of fluency in English (Spoken and written) and Arabic 
 *
Comprehensive knowledge of Islamic Shariah
 * Experience working as an Imam
 *
Ability to interact with and relate to people of all ages and genders
 *
Ability to work with people of different cultures and backgrounds
 *
Ability to cater to all Fiqhs
 *
Ability to teach in English and Arabic
 *
Demonstrated experience in conflict prevention and resolution
 *
Demonstrated experience in family services issues
 *
Must have dynamic personality and is a motivational-speaker
 *
Experience in speaking with Non-Muslims about Islam.

gender and age 

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES 

 The Imam must perform the following duties:  

 Grow the Community Spiritually and Religiously (Tarbiyya) 

 * Lead Salah (Prayers) as assigned by the Imam Committee and ICF Shura and deliver Khatiras
 *
Give Khutba (Sermons) and Salah (Prayers) on Fridays and Eid as assigned by the Shura.
 *
Lead Taraweeh and conduct special Ramadan programs 
*
Conduct Halaqahs, Qiyams and educational workshops in the light of Quran and Hadith with the aim of advancing Fiqh understanding,
Islamic knowledge, Hadith knowledge and Seerah information. This should be done for both adults and youths
 *
Provide funeral services and guidance
 *
Conduct matrimonial services
 *
Offer family services guidance as needed
 *
Visit community members during important life events
 *
Provide consultation to Shura on religious matters, Sunday School, community issues and other masjid related activities as requested 

 

Represent ICF in Public Domain 

 * Represent ICF at interfaith, intrafaith, political and media settings as required by the ICF Shura
 *
Build strong relationships with North Texas Muslim leaders, interfaith/intrafaith leaders and public officials where appropriate
 *
Work with ICF Shura and participate in interfaith activities to train leaders in the community to represent ICF at outreach events 

 General Responsibilities 

 * Be a team player and provide leadership to other ICF scholars and guide them in their duties and responsibilities
 *
Work at least 40 hours per week 
*
Maintain regular office hours at the Masjid for community members to seek guidance and religious counseling
 *
Provide weekly reports on various programs and activities conducted by the Imam and other scholars at ICF
