ICF Youth Presents

A rigorous 5-week program based off of up to date curriculum. Our classes are completely FREE and available to the community. Classes are taught by High School Juniors and Seniors who have excelled in each of their chosen subjects.

One on One help

Our tutors are available to the community via email every day of the week. We are willing to help you through any problem in order to come up with a solution.

Classwork

We will be having two  classes per week in an attempt to help students out in addition to our support line. Class times will be given in advance of August 31st.

Completely Free

Our program is meant to simply support the community during the Covid-19 pandemic in any way we can.

Homework

Homework will be given in order to keep the students active throughout the week. Homework will be posted here on a weekly basis. It is the student's responsibility to work on and submit their work. Every student will have the ability to submit their assignments in for personalized feedback.

The curriculum is based on the harder aspects of Algebra I. We will start with the simpler topics such as exponents and systems of equations and then work on the more broad and harder to understand topics such as factoring and quadratics. By the end of the course students should have a general understanding of Algebra I, along with the confidence to work on topics such as quadratics and factoring.
 
In this course, students will explore concepts covering coordinate and transformational geometry; logical argument and constructions; proof and congruence; similarity, proof, and trigonometry; two- and three-dimensional figures; circles; and probability. 
 
This curriculum is designed to focus on the key concepts of Biology. We will start by focusing on fundamental topics such as biomolecules and cell structure and function. Using the knowledge obtained from the fundamental topics we will then move on to cellular energy, the cell cycle, and hereditary and genetics. By the end of the course students should have a strong understanding of the important aspects in Biology. 
 
Chemistry poses a challenge for many students and is considered one of the harder sciences at the high school level. Our tutors have worked through their past experiences and current course information to put together a syllabus that will prepare students for their upcoming years in Chemistry. By the end of the course, students will have a handle on topics that are usually a huge struggle such as Stoichiometry and understanding significant figures.
 
Technology is an essential part of our society today, especially during this pandemic. This course will give students a basic understanding of computer science and Java. By the end of this course students will have an introduction to computer science along with a deeper knowledge of Java which will help students in their future coding endeavors.
 
We recommend all our students to use IntelliJ and have it installed before the first day of class. Please feel free to watch our tutorial on how to download IntelliJ to your home computer.
  
 
Java 2 will utilize what students were exposed to during Java 1 and go more in depth. Students will learn more about string manipulation, arrays, methods, and classes. By the end of Java 2 students will have completed all the criteria required to excel in PAP Computer Science. Students will also be exposed to higher level projects which allows them to get the practice they may need. It is recommended that students know the basics that they learned in Java 1.

​As an elementary student, it is important to have a strong understanding of math, language arts and science. This course will build skills regarding carrying out simple math operations, identifying patterns in number groups, determining the main ideas in texts, and recognizing the properties of different states of matter. A diverse range of topics will be covered in order to promote the student’s academic development. At the end of the course, the student should be experienced with multiple representations of mathematical ideas, identifying elements of plot and distinguishing the phases of matter in everyday life.
 
 
Math, language arts and science skills are essential to develop at a young age because they create the foundation for more advanced subjects. This course will cover converting between place values, recognizing basic arithmetic rules, identifying text structures, sorting sensory details, and comparing properties of objects. Students will be strongly encouraged to engage in thoughtful conversations in order to build their communication and speaking skills. At the end of the course, the student should have a nuanced view of number values, be able to pinpoint the author’s purpose in a text, know basic grammar rules, and understand the effect of forces on motion.
 
Education is an important factor in a child’s life, especially during this pandemic.  This course will cover converting between fractions, recognizing basic arithmetic rules, literary devices, introduction to poetry, earth systems and changes matter. Students will be strongly encouraged to engage in thoughtful conversations in order to build their communication and speaking skills. At the end of the course, the student should have a nuanced view of fractions, be able to pinpoint the author’s purpose in a text, know basic grammar rules, and understand the effect of how substances can be identified, the causes of change, how weight can be affected by changes.
