Muhammad Osman Yousuf – Candidate for ‘Member’ ICF Shura

Assalaamu alaikum,

My name is Muhammad Osman Yousuf and I have been a part of the Frisco community – depending on how you count it – for almost a decade now. My wife and I called Frisco home soon after we got married in 2009. It has been astonishing to see how fast we’ve grown from a small community praying in a musallah in downtown Frisco to this beautiful, expanding masjid that we now call home.

While I am grateful for everything the past shuras have done to get us this far, I am even more excited to help shape our future going forward. Over the past years, I’ve been involved in ICF events such as volunteering for Sunday School activities, Frisco Street clean up, attending ICF events such as the Fall Festival, taking Arabic classes, etc., but I am looking to take my level of involvement to the next level.

I have an undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. I have been a consultant since I graduated from Georgia Tech in December 2005. However, my professional focus has changed over the last 14 years; I started off as a Technology Consultant helping clients build exciting new systems to becoming a Business Strategy Consultant helping clients shape their future by investing in initiatives that not only help them grow their existing business, but also venture into new untested waters all while expanding margins through cost efficiencies and synergy realization.

I am eager to be a part of the ICF success story. As Muslims, we should all attempt to build a legacy that will please Allah swt. By serving the community with the shura council, I want to help shape our future generations. I want us to be a model society, where our children enjoy spending time in the masjid not just because of the extracurricular activities offered, but because of the richness and sense of unity that our community embodies.

Walaikum assalaam,

Muhammad Osman Yousuf
