Anwer Azam

The story of Anwer Azam is of a self-made individual who came to USA from a modest background from South East Asia. His pure commitment and drive pulled him up and made him live the American Promise. Anwer first worked internationally in Big 4 CPA firms, pharmaceutical companies and Oil Refineries in various capacities in Finance and Audit. He gained his Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance. He worked in the Middle East with the defense sector company that was a sub-contractor to US Department of Defense during the Gulf War. His company worked towards providing support services like accommodations, transportation, translation to American Command and Troops in that region.

After coming to USA Anwer joined a Certified Public Accounting Firm and, in the meantime, gained his Certified Public Accountant Licenses. He worked as a partner in a regional Texas CPA firm for around 15 years before starting his own Accounting and Tax Firm in 2015. With his entrepreneurial skills he built a growing enterprise. His great interest with business and tax issues of small businesses made him help those small to medium size business tremendously. During that time Anwer gained a great insight about the day-to-day business and tax issues that keep the small business people up at night. In the process with his problem-solving skills, he helped the business people to focus on their businesses more than other issues.

Community service has always been a very important focus for Anwer. He served as President and on boards of various non-profit organizations. Those non-profits included organizations that promote education, international business and cultural heritage. He has served on HOA boards of communities where he has lived. Served on ICF Civics committee for over a year so far.

He has been married to his wife Iram for over 28 years and have four children. One of his daughters is a pediatrician and son is also a doctor doing residency in Internal Medicine. His third child a daughter is a freshman at UT Dallas and other daughter goes to High schools in Frisco.
