Syed Rehan Shah
Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahe wa Barakatuhu,
My name is Syed Rehan Shah, and I have been a proud member of the ICF community since its establishment in 2007. Prior to moving to Frisco, I lived in Lewisville, TX for 8 years where I actively served the local Masjid community as a Shura member for multiple terms.
Professionally, I am a mechanical engineer and have been working at an oil & gas related company in Dallas for the past 27 years. Outside of work, I enjoy playing cricket and am one of the founding members of one of the largest cricket associations in the DFW area. Alhamdulillah, I am blessed with a supportive and service-oriented family. My wife, Huma, is also an active member of ICF and we are blessed with two daughters and a son.
Over the past 18 years of living in Frisco, I have had the honor of serving ICF in a variety of roles. I started volunteering at ICF when the Masjid operated out of a small Mussallah in downtown Frisco. Alhamdulillah, I have witnessed our community grow tremendously and have been blessed to contribute in various efforts along the way. I have served multiple terms as a Shura member, taken on the role of Treasurer, led fundraising efforts, served as the Election Commissioner at ICF, and contributed to several construction and developmental projects to help expand our Masjid facilities. Additionally, I was a part of the original Land Committee that laid the groundwork to acquire our current Masjid property, which was a major milestone in our community’s growth, Alhamdulillah.
Based on my experiences with the ICF community, I have decided to offer my volunteer services with some specific goals and areas of growth in mind. If given the opportunity to serve in the Shura, I plan to work alongside the team to focus on the following key areas:
Enhance and refine general policies and procedures at ICF, while strengthening critical youth programs such as Nazrah/Hifz, Sunday School, and other initiatives to better serve our growing community in alignment with ICF’s mission as a 501(c) non-profit organization.
Review and optimize ICF’s monthly expenses to ensure financial responsibility and long-term sustainability.
Promote upcoming construction projects, such as the need for a gym, expanded parking space, as well as exploring retail opportunities to help bring ICF towards a self-sustaining organization.
Support and empower ICF committees and programs to ensure that both youth and adults remain actively engaged in the Masjid at every stage of life.
Support our current ICF scholars’ team and coordinate to bring in highly qualified Islamic guest scholars for lectures and unique masjid programs.
Ensure operational transparency and provide regular updates to keep the community informed.
Strengthen interfaith and civic engagement by representing ICF in broader Frisco community initiatives within our jurisdiction.
If given the opportunity, it would be an honor to dedicate my time and efforts towards the continued growth and success of ICF as well as serve the community for the sake of Allah (SWT), Insha’Allah.
Jazak Allah Khair for your time and support.
