Technical Requirements / Tools:
In order for your child to have a successful session, please have the following ready for daily use;
- A functioning desktop or laptop with a webcam. A tablet may be acceptable as well. However, phones may not be a good idea due to notifications, distractions, battery, and intense long use.
- An accessible email in order to login to the virtual classroom.
- A headset/earphone with a mic to reduce static/interference while reciting.
- Moderate to high speed internet to avoid any lag in recitation.
- Given this tight timeframe, please note that this will be an accountability class. There is no way students will be able to study during their active session. Students must be prepared (done studying), before their class session starts.
Virtual Classroom Rules:
- Students must be prepared before their session starts.
- There is no excuse for being late. There will be a 5-minute grace period to log in, after that the classroom will be locked.
- Students should sit at a desk/table, or the floor, in a private area.
- Please avoid sitting on your bed, lounge, or common areas, where there is family or other distractions.
- Students are required to be in uniform. Be in wudhu, clean white thobe, and kufi. (Full time Hifdh)
- Please use the bathroom before of after class. No bathroom breaks.
- Sit in a place where you are facing the window or light. I.e. the light must not be behind you. This will eliminate any glare, and make the student/teacher visible.
- Study as if you are on site. focus, read, and do not look at anyone else.
Virtual Class Routine:
Due to the time constraint, and quality control, unfortunately we must limit the amount of recitation from student to teacher. The routine is as follows;
- When we had classes on site, the teachers were able to closely work with their students, and did their best to finish your child’s assignments. The teacher prepared them for the following day, minimizing your child’s work at home. Now the situation is different, and you (the parents) have more time with the students (your children), than the teachers. We request you to help us and be even more involved during this sensitive period. The teachers will be in contact with you regarding what your child needs to study. At the same time, please do not hesitate to contact the teacher.
- Wait for your child’s teacher to reach out to you and coordinate a trial class on Tuesday. Have your child log on to the program which will be sent through email. This will help us get better prepared for Tuesday.
- Please make sure your child studies at home, and is ready for their assignments before class. The better prepared your child is, the earlier their teachers can start preparing them for the following day. This will make their Hifdh easier in shaa Allah.
