Shaykh Salah
Shaykh Salah Mahmoud

Imam Salah Mahmoud, the Imam and Religious Director at the Islamic Center of Frisco, brings a wealth of knowledge and spiritual guidance. A graduate of Azhar University with a Bachelor's in Islamic Sciences and Theology, he has a profound educational background. Having memorized the Quran at the age of 10, Imam Mahmoud is deeply rooted in Quranic knowledge, holding various Ijazaat. Dedicated to community engagement, he actively participates in the North Texas Imam Council (NTIC) and the North Texas Islamic Council, fostering collaboration and unity in the broader Muslim community.

Certified as a Chaplain by the New York Task Force, he extends support beyond religious services, providing spiritual guidance during challenging times. As a member of Mentorship and Education by Collin County A’Imah (M.E.C.C.A), he contributes to the holistic growth of individuals in the community. With 15 years of experience, Imam Salah Mahmoud has been serving as an Imam, notably at the Muslim American Society and Jamaica Muslim Center in New York City. As a family man, married with two daughters, Imam Mahmoud values family principles. Beyond his spiritual duties, he showcases a well-rounded personality as a Ping Pong Champion, emphasizing the balance between physical and mental well-being.

In his role as Imam and Religious Director, he inspires and guides the community, fostering deep spirituality and unity at the Islamic Center of Frisco. Imam Salah Mahmoud's influence extends beyond our community, as he visits various masajid and Islamic centers locally and nationally. His compelling speeches and fundraising efforts contribute to charitable causes, notably as a co-founder of the American Egyptian Aid, a 501c organization dedicated to supporting kidney failure patients.

Mufti Sajid
Mufti Sajid Ali

Mufti Sajid Ali is a native of Chicago, where he initiated his formal Islamic studies at the Institute of Islamic Education in Elgin, Illinois. Mufti Sajid helped form the first batch of students to start the ‘Alim course, a rigorous six to eight ​year​ detailed stu​dy​ of Arabic grammar (nahw), morphology (sarf), and eloquence (balaghah); jurisprudence (fiqh) and its principles (usul); hadith and its principles; Quranic exegesis (tafsir) and its principles; creed (‘aqidah) and logic (mantiq); pronunciation, intonation, and caesura pertaining to Quran recitation (tajwid); and Prophetic and general Islamic history (sirah, tarikh).

After completing his ‘Alim course in 2007, Mufti Sajid briefly pursued higher secular education for a year before his zeal for jurisprudence led him half way across the world in Camperdown, South Africa, where he enrolled at Madrasah In’aamiyyah to specialize in the field of issuing legal verdicts (iftaa) under the expert in Hanafi fiqh, Mufti Ebrahim Desai (may Allah lengthen his life). He successfully completed his training in 2010 and received authorization (ijazah) in issuing fatwas (legal verdicts).

Ustadh Safi
Ustadh Safi Khan

Ustadh Safi Khan has been serving the Muslim community full-time since 2017. Raised in Memphis, Tennessee, he began his work as an Imam and as Director of Youth, College, and Young Professionals Programming. He also holds a bachelors degree in teacher education and minor in both English and youth and adolescent psychology from the University of Memphis.

In 2019, he moved to Dallas and joined Qalam Institute and Roots Community as a full-time teacher. He specializes in Islamic morals, character, the life of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, hadith, and Qur’anic reflections—particularly for youth and young adults. In addition to teaching, he mentors and creates dynamic programs that engage both youth and the wider community, fostering a wholesome and spiritually enriching environment. He has traveled both locally and nationally to various Muslim communities, providing meaningful programming.

Currently, Ustadh Safi is completing the final years of the ʿĀlimiyyah program at Qalam Seminary in Carrollton, Texas. He lives in Dallas with his wife and young daughter. He is also excited to join the growing Frisco Muslim community at ICF, eager to contribute to its development while becoming an active part of it himself.

Ustadha Sophia
Ustadha Sophia Khan

Ustadha Sophia is a well-known leader amongst the youth/young adults in the DFW Muslim community.

She was born and raised in the U.S. and then moved to Dubai, U.A.E. - where she lived there for fifteen years. She studied Islamic Shari'ah Law in Arabic as her major at the University of Sharjah, U.A.E., and has completed a degree in Psychology with a concentration in Mental Health as well. She moved back to America in 2019 with her husband and two daughters and has been serving the DFW Muslim Youth community since.

Amongst the youth, Ustadha Sophia is known to be very approachable, relatable, and understanding towards their struggles without any judgment and she provides Islamic guidance based on the issues and problems that the youth face on a daily basis.

Ustadha Sophia is very excited to be joining the ICF team and working alongside the religious leadership and board to help create programs specifically for the youth girls and young professional sisters in the community and to be able to continue her passion towards guiding them in trying to connect more with their faith and identity - all based on her Islamic academic background and the knowledge she has gained over the years as well as her experience of mentoring the youth for over fifteen years. Qari Ahmed
Qari Ahmed Fadl

Qari Ahmed Fadl is a graduate of Al-Azhar University, with a major in Arabic Language and Literature. He memorized the entire Qur’an at the age of 8.

Qari Ahmed has over a decade of experience in teaching the Qur’an, its sciences, and the Arabic language. He has led numerous Qur’anic programs, developed curricula, and helped establish Qur’an learning environments that are both structured and spiritually enriching. His vision continues to shape the future of Qur’anic education through leadership, mentorship, and innovation in curriculum design.

He has received numerous awards in local and international Qur’an competitions and holds multiple Ijazahs in Qur’an, including five Qira’at, with authentic chains of narration linked to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
